Hamden Chooses First Female Fire Chief

Shelly Carter's appointment as Hamden, Connecticut's next Fire Chief will make her the first woman and the first person of color to hold the position, according to local officials. She has been acting chief since Chief Jeffrey Naples retired from the department.

Carter has 25 years of firefighting experience. She is a Hartford, CT. native.
