Hamden Mayor Lauren Garrett announced on Tuesday that she won’t seek reelection this November. Garrett has served in the role since 2021. In a statement, she explained her decision to withdraw from the mayoral race.
She said she decided to do so so that she could spend more time with her family and focus on her well-being. There are four Democrats and one Republican who have already announced their bids for mayor ahead of the next election.
