The Gun Safety Consortium brings together counties, municipalities, public-sector agencies and states to advance the cause of gun safety. They use their combined purchasing power, expertise and research to find solutions.
Hamden joined the Consortium in May 2021. According to Mayor Leng, “Proper gun safety and the reduction of gun violence is not unique to just one community, it's profoundly important for every community.”Development of technologies and products that help gun owners secure their firearms can lead to a safer society.
In addition to joining the Consortium, Mayor Leng supported the passage of more comprehensive gun control safety and anti violence legislation across the country. Read more on this topic here.
