The new NextGen Acela ( Acela Avelia Liberty) is the fastest train in the US, designed to run slightly faster than the current Acela, reaching top speeds of 160 mph compared to the older fleet's 150 mph. These upgraded trains feature a new tilt system for faster cornering and began offering service on the Northeast Corridor in August 2025.
