On the morning of Wednesday, June 10, 2026, an anonymous caller contacted authorities, claiming there were active shooters and explosive devices at both Hamden Middle School and the local Walmart. Law enforcement responded immediately, later confirming that the call was a deliberate hoax and a swatting incident.
They did not find a credible threat or explosives at either location. Normal school operations safely resumed.
