The Hamden Trader Joe's, located at 46 Skiff Street, partners with Food Rescue USA to donate 100% of its unsold, safe-to-consume food. These daily donations support the Keefe Community Food Bank and the Dinner for a Dollar program at Grace & St. John’s Episcopal Church.
The program is a cornerstone of Trader Joe’s community outreach, and every store has a captain dedicated to this initiative. Not only have these efforts helped to alleviate hunger, but they have also diverted millions of pounds of food from landfills annually.
