In response to federal funding cuts, IRIS has shifted to a mix of remote services, downsized/closed physical offices, and satellite locations. Despite the cuts, IRIS has expanded community support, legal aid, translation services, and short-term assistance for non-refugee immigrants and Haitian immigrants facing temporary protected status (TPS).
IRIS also partnered with the Community Soup Kitchen at 75 Hamilton Street in the Fair Haven neighborhood to keep its food pantry open and expand meal access to serve up to 650 families weekly. More information is here.
