A sales tax holiday starts tomorrow.

Connecticut's Sales Tax-Free Week for 2025 runs from Sunday, August 17th to Saturday, August 23rd, 2025. During this period, the state's 6.35% sales tax will not be charged on retail purchases of most clothing and footwear items priced under $100 per item

This tax holiday applies to purchases made from retailers located within Connecticut, as well as from online retailers. Examples of exempt items:

  • Hats, gloves, earmuffs
  • Jeans, dresses, shorts, shirts
  • Socks, sneakers, slippers
  • Rented uniforms, work clothes, formal wear
  • Undergarments, robes, swimsuits
