Gov. Ned Lamont and State Rep. Josh Elliott will face each other in a primary election.

Governor Ned Lamont won the Democratic Party endorsement at the Connecticut State Democratic Convention held in Hartford today. However, state Representative Josh Elliott of Hamden secured 25 percent of the delegate votes, crossing the 15 percent threshold required to trigger an August primary, which will take place on August 11, 2026.
