Jump On & Go: Free CTtransit Rides This July 4th!

All CTtransit bus routes in the New Haven division will be fare-free on July 4th, 2026. The state Department of Transportation is sponsoring this  promotion to celebrate Independence Day and the nation's 250th birthday. 

Key details are below-

Fare-Free Window: Buses are free from 3 a.m. on Saturday, July 4th, through 2 a.m. on Monday, July 6th.

No Ticket Required: You do not need to show an ID, pass, or ticket; simply board and go.

Service Schedule: CTtransit buses will operate on a Sunday schedule on July 4th.
