The Walmart expansion project in the Hamden Mart is to begin next month.

Construction on the expansion of the Walmart at the Hamden Mart, located at 2300 Dixwell Ave, will begin in mid-August 2026. The project will add 63,000 square feet, expanding the location into a full-service Walmart Supercenter by the end of 2027. 

Parking lot layout changes will focus on maximizing traffic flow, safety, and efficiency within the complex. They also plan to add electric vehicle charging stalls to the new parking configuration.
