Wallingford has been named one of the best places to retire in New England for 2026, according to a new ranking from Travel + Leisure magazine. The town ranked fourth on the publication's list, making it the only Connecticut community to earn a spot on it.

The ranking highlights the town's access to nearby healthcare, including Gaylord Hospital, as well as local transportation options. The town’s mill rate of 24 is below average.
