A group of friends studying at the University of California Los Angeles founded Swipe Out Hunger in 2010. It is a non-profit that promotes on-campus solutions to student hunger.
The staff members help ensure students have access to food. They have served 4.8 million nutritious meals to date.
Maria's Place and Sodexo, a college campus food service, collaborate to run a Swipe Out Hunger program at Central Connecticut State University. Maria's Place provides the CCSU community with donated, non-perishable items.
