COVID Superdodgers

According to Michaeleen Doucleff, Ph.D., a correspondent for NPR's Science Desk, these superdodgers likely carry a gene that protects them from getting COVID. Scientists have found a gene called HLA, and this particular mutation on it protects people from getting sick because it helps to clear out the virus quickly.

Individuals with this mutation were armed and ready to fight SARS-CoV-2 even before vaccines became available. Scientists have found that conceivably 10 percent of people out there have this protective mutation.
