Juneteenth 2023

Juneteenth, the newest federal holiday, celebrates the end of slavery in the United States. The Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities will join the official Juneteenth Coalition of Greater New Haven in a March from Stetson Branch Library on Dixwell Avenue to the New Haven Green on June 17.

Activities will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by the March at 11:00 AM. All 50 states and the District of Columbia recognize Juneteenth as a holiday or observance.
