SAVE calculates your monthly payment amount based on your income and family size. It provides the lowest monthly minimum of any IDR, and most student borrowers are eligible.
The benefits are:
- Decreased monthly payment amount
- Elimination of 100 percent of remaining interest for subsidized and unsubsidized loans
- Exclusion of spousal income
Starting this summer, if you are making $32,800 a year or less your monthly payment will be $0. More information is here.
