This tax-free holiday comes just in time for back-to-school shopping and will help families stretch their dollars. Most clothing and footwear items under $100 are exempt from sales and use tax.

According to Kiplinger, the items that qualify are:

• Dresses, jeans, shirts, and shorts
• Earmuffs, gloves, and hats
• Rental uniforms
• Robes
• Slippers, sneakers, socks, and swimsuits
• Undergarments
