The Hamden Fire Department responded at 10:22 PM to find heavy fire coming from the second floor of an apartment building. The fire crew and neighbors helped alert and evacuate several families.
According to officials, no one sustained injuries, but the fire displaced 22 people. The Red Cross and the town are providing accommodations for all residents of the building.
