A recent news release from the Hamden Police Department and Mayor Garrett addresses public safety issues. The town will host a Crime Prevention Discussion tomorrow afternoon.
According to the news release, they have taken or will take the following steps:
- Increase Patrols
They will add police bicycle patrols/walking beats, and more officers will cover high visibility areas.
- Collaborate with Local Businesses
Officers have met with businesses in the Hamden Mart and Hamden Plaza, and the result is enhanced security cameras and lighting.
- Hold Crime Prevention Meetings
Officers meet with neighborhood watch and civic groups to keep the community apprised of the situation.
- Have a Crime Prevention Discussion
The discussion will be at the Thornton Wilder Hall in the Miller Memorial Library on March 23, 2022, at 1:30 PM.
Update: A second discussion will take place next Wednesday, March 30 at the Hamden legislative council chambers at 6:30 p.m.
