The Uber app updated its rider safety features recently.

Riders can automatically opt into Uber's safety features for specific times. They include an audio recorder, an in-app emergency button, and a PIN verification.

To set up the features, scroll to the safety preferences section in settings. They are available in Canada, Latin America, and the United States.
