The official recognition by a trio of European countries of an independent Palestinian state will take effect on May 28, 2024.

In a historic move, Ireland, Norway, and Spain announced Wednesday they are recognizing a Palestinian state. The three countries support a two-state solution to foster peace in the Middle East.
