Chilean artist Carlos Bautista Biernnay is a Hamden resident.

Bautista Biernnay identifies as a Dadaist and is temporarily showing his tapestry art at the Stamford Town Center. He is also showing his work at  Artspace, a gallery in New Haven.

Biernnay grew up in Chile under the Augusto Pinochet dictatorship. He attributes his sewing and embroidering skills to his mother and grandmother.

He currently divides his time between Chile and Hamden. Check out photos of his art here.
