Part of Whitney Avenue in Hamden is closed after a driver hit a utility pole this morning.

The driver hit a pole early this morning and sustained minor injuries. First responders took the person to the hospital.

The crash happened around 5:10 AM at the Whitney Ave. and Shepard Avenue intersection. Whitney Avenue will remain closed until the completion of repairs.
